What is AfricaPay Kenya?

AfricaPay Kenya is a free website offering accessible and accurate information on wages, labour law, decent work and minimum wages in Kenya. There is a special focus on employers on AfricaPay Kenya.

Who can use AfricaPay Kenya?

Everybody - it is a free and open service. However, employers may find it of particular use in terms of easily referencing labour laws, salary scales and related material.

Is AfricaPay Kenya only online?

No – the aim of the AfricaPay Kenya project is to also include input from those who cannot easily access the internet, and provide information in the form of pamphlets, media and workshops. AfricaPay Kenya plans to bring together different groups, including employers, employees, unionists and government representatives, to discuss socio-economic issues which are relevant in Kenya.

How does AfricaPay Kenya collect salary information?

Visitors to the site are encouraged to fill out the confidential Salary Survey. It takes about 10 minutes, and information from this survey is then gathered as data which reflects wages, as well as working conditions, for Kenyan workers. The more surveys are filled out, the more wage data can be collected.

Each year, one lucky person from Kenya who takes the survey will receive a cash prize of a minimum wage – the equivalent of one month’s minimum wage salary. Click here for further details.

Does AfricaPay Kenya have any partners?

Is AfricaPay Kenya connected to an organisation?
